“God called Brian and I to give even before we made Christ the center of our marriage. Ten years ago, when we reconnected, God asked us to provide for the nourishment needs of several hundred elementary school students in my area. It was right before Christmas break, and most kids would want for food while at home. So when Brian flew into town to visit me for the weekend, rather than go out to eat at fancy restaurants, I asked him if he wouldn’t mind helping me fill the need. Luckily, he was happy to oblige. We spent the entire weekend shopping, sorting, and bagging snacks in Christmas bags for 500 children. It was an awesome experience, and that’s when I knew that God commissioned us to help care for our community and His children. Ten years later, we still enjoy sowing into the community, especially efforts that benefit kids. That’s what we admire about House of Hope, their mission to rehabilitate teens and show them the way of Christ.”
Tara shared two verses with us to encourage you, our awesome partners!!
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him. – Psalm 127:3
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6

Intercessory prayer is at the essence of House of Hope Maryland. We believe God has great plans for our ministry and know the importance of individuals holding up House of Hope Maryland in their prayers regularly. Currently, members from our organization meet at specific times throughout the month to pray for our ministry and Maryland’s teens and families. Your prayers are also greatly appreciated. Contact us if you are interested in joining our prayer group and/or receiving our bi-monthly e-mail of prayer requests/answered prayers.
Volunteers, both individuals and groups, can serve in all areas of the House of Hope Maryland ministry on a one time or on an on-going basis. Contact us if you have the time and desire to use your spiritual gift to make a difference in the life of a teenager.
